Stunning Spring Downtown Roanoke Engagement Photos in Roanoke, Virginia

I met up with Cody and Rachel for these gorgeous Downtown Roanoke Engagement photos during peak blossom season in the spring. We had talked about several different locations in Roanoke for their engagement photos, but we decided the blooms in Downtown Roanoke couldn’t be beat! One of the best parts of the session? There was a massive food truck festive happening throughout the Downtown Roanoke so we got to stop and grab snacks throughout the session!

Cody and Rachel met while they were in college at James Madison University in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They had a mutual friend, Kim, who introduced them and they were meant to be. Only problem was, he thought she wasn’t interested. For several weeks they flirted back and forth, catching glimpses of what they thought could be a relationship until Rachel graduated. Somehow Cody managed to catch her off guard and ask her out, which has ended up being a lasting relationship full of laughter and lots of sarcasm!

Flash forward a couple of years and Cody asked Rachel to marry him. Not only did he get down on one knee with a gorgeous ring, he did so in Venice, Italy!! These two were on vacation with her family traveling through Italy when he surprised her in St. Mark’s Square in the heart of Venice and asked her to be his wife. They proceeded to spend the next week smiling their way through Florence and Rome. Um, jealous!

But when you meet them, you quickly realize that they are the perfect balance and you see how they compliment each other so well. Although they know that marriage takes effort, they are PUMPED to have found in each other, someone who understands the commitment that marriage and love is. It is such a joy to get to know this hilarious and thoroughly sarcastic couple and their Downtown Roanoke engagement photos turned out absolutely stunning.
