It was early 2013 when I decided to open Danielle Defayette Photography and I’ve spent the last seven years photographing weddings all over the United States. I’ve photographed close to a hundred wedding days and captured such incredible moments since I picked up my first film camera all those years ago. I’m the photographer who goes all in and works with each couple to craft their perfect wedding day.
I’m also the entrepreneur who truly enjoys pouring my heart and soul into self-education and have studied under wedding photography legends like Justin & Mary and Julie Paisley. I thrive off of continually learning from others, getting creative, and challenging myself.
After all this time, I have always dreamed of creating a photography workshop that, from the beginning to the end, treated each attendee like a valuable client. From the instructors, to the vendor team, and even the educational content available–I wanted the attendees to leave feeling empowered and have incredible content to elevate their wedding photography portfolio.
That is why the Dualité Workshop came together. In my best friend, Danni, I have found another creative soul who, although a completely different style from me, truly loves learning and sharing knowledge. So we spent MONTHS concocting our first workshop and picking out the best vendors for the event. We found an incredible venue, Villa Nove Vineyard, to host our dream day and from there everything just seemed to fall into place!
Our first Dualité workshop was absolutely incredible and we had such a fun bunch of photographers who came out to participate! There were two couples who graciously rocked the wedding day attire and wore completely different looks from Blue Willow Bridal. We had a stunning wedding cake by CakeArt by Margi, which was full of intricately designed fondant flowers. Invitations by Whitney delivered a gorgeous wedding stationery suite in addition to menus and vow books. I was obsessed with the incredible heels from Bella Belle Shoes that we featured for the flat lay stations too!
As we wrapped up the evening with our group we were met by a breathtaking sunset in the vineyard. The skies couldn’t be clearer and the sun couldn’t have been more golden. It was absolutely fantastic and after we got back to pack up for the evening–we were served with wine from Villa Nove Vineyard!
Our first Dualité Workshop was such a passion project and it definitely ignited a flame for educating others. We’ve since hosted a second workshop and are in talks for a third! So, if you’re a photographer looking to have a great time, take over-the-top images, and learn from the best in the game–join us for an unforgettable experience and some of the best education on the market!
