Before you can *officially* pop the question, you’re going to need a master proposal plan in place. That definitely takes some coordination and I’m here to help! 

The Pretty Place Chapel is located in Cleveland, South Carolina and is equidistant from both Asheville and Greenville. It’s on the border of the two states, but actually sits on the South Carolina side. 

The Pretty Place Chapel does allow visitation, but the hours change quite often and the venue does book with private events. Unless you reach out about paying to reserve the chapel on an hourly basis, you’ll only have two week’s notice to plan a super stealth surprise proposal.

(James Bond vibes? I think yes.) 

If it were me and I was planning one of the most monumental moments of my entire life (not to be dramatic or anything), I would definitely reserve the Pretty Place Chapel privately for my proposal. 

When you do reserve the space, you won’t be worrying about popping the question in front of a large crowd and you won’t be stressing out about whether the space is open or closed. It’ll be a serene experience and you two will be free to soak in all the excitement together without interruption. (Not to mention you also get access to private bathrooms rather than the port-a-potties before you hit the road!)

Perfect Timing For A Pretty Place Chapel Proposal

With the way the Pretty Place Chapel sits facing the mountains, the sun rises from the mountain view and sets behind the chapel with a *super romantic* view of…the parking lot. 

For this reason, trying to find a way to propose as close to sunrise as possible at the Pretty Place Chapel is ideal. If you two aren’t early risers or getting there for sunrise just wouldn’t work logistically, the view from the chapel is still jaw dropping any time of day!

You should also consider the time of year to plan on for your Pretty Place Chapel proposal! The winter months are still quite lovely, but if you’re looking for lush greenery you will want to aim for April through early September for your visit. If you’re a fan of the abundance of autumn colors on the mountainside (most people are!), you’ll want to check the peak fall foliage time for the Blue Ridge Mountains but typically aiming for late September to mid-October is best!

Pro Tip: You will also want to consider the weather too, because fog is frequent and can completely obscure the mountains on a misty morning!
