Truly Lovely Silver Hearth Lodge Wedding in Roanoke, Virginia

The Silver Hearth Lodge on Bent Mountain is full of panoramic views and scenic spots, as well as fire pits! The venue is family friendly, laid out with a big open lawn that overlooks the mountains; a perfect view for a romanic Silver Hearth Lodge wedding ceremony! They are even home to the Sacred Heart Chapel–Virginia’s smallest church!

Four years ago Cody and Rachel met through friends at James Madison University. They immediately started hanging out, even though they both were under the impression that they were “just friends.” She loved his athleticism and he loved her humor, it was the perfect combo. Once they started dating it just kind of clicked and they both knew early on that it was going to be a long lasting relationship. Cody proposed to Rachel in Italy on a family vacation. Whilst walking the streets in Venice he got down on one knee in St. Marks Square and proposed in front of her family. Talk about the best vacation ever!

It is SO obvious that Cody and Rachel are best friends and enjoy every second that they get to spend together! We adore the way they hold hands as they walk, and say the simplest things that make each other laugh. It is clear they are madly in love!  They are a fun and easy going couple, who love everything about being together. Whether it’s hanging out at the house or just playing sports together, every moment spent is the best. They are a perfect match and I truly loved their Silver Hearth Lodge wedding!

The couple’s first look took place under the shade of massive pine trees. Cody was all smiles and it was so evident how excited he was to see his bride. It was also so sweet to see the bride’s first look with her dad, who broke down into tears at the sight of his daughter in her wedding dress. Rachel said that she had never seen him cry before and it made the moment so much more special!

The bride and groom said their vows in front of all their friends and family in the prettiest of Silver Hearth Lodge wedding ceremonies we’ve seen yet! Rachel wore a stunning cathedral length veil which gave us Kate Middleton vibes for sure, but as the newlyweds were making their exit down the aisle her veil decided not to come with her! The lovebirds laughed it off and continued to wave goodbye to the crowd, which had me giggling for most of the night!

Overall, the day was absolutely magical and I was so glad I was able to be a part of it! I loved photographing this Silver Hearth Lodge wedding and every detail was perfectly planned. The venue even surprised the crowd with a romanic firework exit, which made their departure so picturesque! I hope you enjoy their photos as much as I enjoyed their wedding!
