Shining a Spotlight on the Incredible Washington DC Wedding Planning Team: A Griffin Events
As a long time wedding photographer, I’ve been truly blessed to work with so many talented wedding vendors. I am always honored to watch months (sometimes years!) of planning come to life and capture the beauty of their hard work. Every so often, I meet people who truly shine and I cannot help but have an even greater day with.
I found this to be wholeheartedly true of Aimee and her team at A Griffin Events.
So, naturally, I decided I would bombard her with emails and request to interview her for a blog post that I could share with all of you! Let’s get into it, shall we?
Q: Let’s talk about you! What are a few personal things you’d like to share with potential clients?
Aimee: “We care about experience first and foremost. We love a great design and it’s equally important to us that your food is served hot, you have plenty of time on the dance floor, and the bar lines are non-existent.”
Q: What do you love most about your job as a Washington DC based planner?
Aimee: “We love being invited into our clients’ important moments to create a truly memorable event that their guests say feels just like them. We love leading a team of creative partners to make it possible for each professional to do their very best work on our couple’s behalf.”
Q: What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
Aimee: “So many favorites! Of course, there is the first look and sending the couple down the aisle for the ceremony. There are nothing like those moments.
But I find that I always take a moment during dinner and dancing to watch guests having a great time. We are experience-focused planners, so we love to see everyone having the time of their lives and delighted with every detail.”
Q: What’s one “must have” piece of advice you’d give to couples starting the planning process?
Aimee: “Do whatever is right for you and your guests. Ignore the noise of the wedding industry and find professionals whose style and approach resonate with yours. From there, work with them to create YOUR day.”
Q: I know you’re Northern Virginia + Washington DC based wedding planners, but what is a dream wedding venue or city you’d love to work in?
Aimee: “The Smithsonians were always a personal dream of mine, so every time we get to work there, it’s a pinch-me moment!
We are currently building relationships in Ireland, California and the Colorado mountain towns so we are excited about working in any of those places.”
(Um, me too! Who’s ready to pack a bag and search for some Passport stamps with me?!)
