Gorgeous Fall Engagement Session at Grayson Highlands State Park
This engagement session was a combination of two of my very favorite things: fall and Grayson Highlands State Park. I have been coming to this spot so many times this year to see the wild ponies, hike along the Appalachian trail, summit Virginia’s highest peak at Mount Rogers, and visit the sleepy little town of Damascus. I love it here so much- no matter what time of year it is.
While it was rather cold with a pretty significant wind chill up on the Rhododendron Trail, I still cannot believe how lucky we got with the weather. It was such a gorgeous sunset! I hadn’t been able to text Camron and Samantha in time to make sure they brought some warm clothes to keep warm, but it was definitely a ton of fun regardless!
Samantha had only been to Grayson Highlands State Park to ride her horses, so we were all having a great time exploring the trails for the perfect engagement photo locations! I think the ponies were particularly memorable. One certain pony, wouldn’t leave these two alone. He constantly asked for their attention, and eventually decided that he thought Samantha’s bag was actually full of treats. Visiting these little ponies out in Grayson Highlands State Park is always such a magical time.
We bid the ponies farewell just in time to hike up to the top of the cliffs and watch the sun set over Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. These two were such troopers for climbing up the steep rocky cliffs and standing in the wind for their engagement photos! The three of us managed to safely climb down at dusk and hike down the trail just before nightfall was in full force. Thank you so much to Camron and Samantha for sharing the laughs with me on this adventure!
