Summer Steele Creek Park Wedding in Bristol
Elijah and Kimberly started off their wedding day by getting ready at St. Anne Catholic Church in Bristol, Virginia. The girls got ready in a cute classroom underneath the chapel, where there were colorful cabinets and lots of storage space! It always fun to shoot in spaces that are unique and show off the personality behind the moments. It was such a fun atmosphere, and at one point the girls were doing each others hair, snacking on donuts from Blackbird Bakery, and skipping in their flowy dresses together – which is basically every girl’s dream, right?!
The gentleman were also fortunate enough to get ready in a spacious classroom at St Anne Catholic Church! They really made sure to utilize each of the children’s toys left out as they got ready for the ceremony (at one point the groomsmen were discussing their favorite dinosaurs and making paper airplanes!).
St Anne Catholic Church is breathtakingly gorgeous! It is full of green ivy, lush green landscape and even has a small pond in the middle. It truly feels like a cottage in the Cotswolds! During the ceremony, the couple did nothing but smile at one another as the priest went through their vows. Even with the face masks on you could tell that the two were grinning at each other from ear to ear!
After the ceremony, everyone transitioned to the Steele Creek Park Wedding reception in Bristol. The food was delicious and the decorations were so heartfelt. Everyone in attendance truly spent time enjoying each other’s company and celebrating the Bride and Groom. Steele Creek Park also makes the perfect backdrop for stunning wedding portraits, which we made sure to take a ton of!
During the speeches there wasn’t a dry eye as Kimberly’s sister revealed that the bridesmaids had added a personal touch to her dress before the wedding day. Kimberly’s family is from Upstate New York and her brother lives in England, so with the COVID-19 travel restrictions they weren’t able to attend the wedding at Steele Creek Park. Kimberly’s sister and each of the bridesmaids decided to sew a sentimental decorated stone into the hem of her wedding gown, which would remind her that they were always there for her. As her sister gave the speech she explained the meaning behind each stone and it was so special to watch the emotion of the gesture on Kimberly’s face.
Kimberly’s dad gave a beautiful speech about how happy he was that Kimberly found the man of her dreams and how lucky they were to have Elijah in the family. Speeches were immediately followed by the first dances and another round of tissues were passed around as Elijah and his mother took the floor. I definitely teared up watching the two of them dance to the sweetest song and see his mother’s tears of joy as she danced with her son.
The whole day was absolutely magical. Although COVID-19 threw a wrench in their original plans, this intimate wedding at Steele Creek Park was worth the wait for sure!
