The Side Porch, Johnson City Tennessee

One of my favorite things about The Side Porch? You could visit this venue fifty times and still find a brand new place to photograph! Nestled just beside the residential area of Johnson City, Tennessee is a magical wedding full of charm and Victorian architecture. Named after it’s iconic wrap around porch, The Side Porch is definitely one of the best spots for family photos in East Tennessee!

Whenever I plan out my mini sessions, I often choose The Side Porch because it’s just such a picturesque location. The spring sessions I hosted this April were originally supposed to be outside in the fields adjacent to the whitewashed reception barn, but May flowers require April showers and that’s just what we had! Instead of being forced to reschedule, we simply moved onto the beautiful second story porch for these spring mini sessions!

All of the sweet families that came out for photos loved the whimsical floral setup around the daybed and the charming furniture that The Side Porch has to offer! With a blend of wild dogwood blooms, red bud branches, and freshly popped apple blossoms it was definitely quite the East Tennessee combination! I also snuck in some Anemones and Ranunculus from the local flower farm, Aunt Willies Wildflowers. I always love getting to work with so many families, both new and returning!
