At-Home Family Photos

Spending the afternoon with the Holmes family for their lifestyle family session was so much fun! They are so down to earth and playful and you can’t help but smile being around them! I’ve worked with Rachael in the past, but it’s always to photograph her confectionary creations and decadent deserts at Petite Sweets bakery! I was entirely too excited to work with her sweet family and capture gorgeous family photos for them!

The session took place in their Johnson City area home, which Rachael has decorated to look like something out of an HGTV magazine–retaining a very comfortable and homey feel. Of course, her kitchen is truly gorgeous! I couldn’t get enough the beautiful aqua colored cabinets (which are not featured too often on her Petite Sweets Instagram feed), so I was sure to get lots of shots!

Johnson City Family Photos

I admire Rachael so much. She started her baking business, Petite Sweets, several years ago and went from having a cupcake bus to an ever expanding bakery in the heart of Johnson City, Tennessee. Since her early baking days, she has made hundreds and hundreds of cakes–a ton of which I’ve had the privilege of photographing (and tasting) at weddings!

This lifestyle family session was extra special, because Rachael was celebrating a rather important milestone. She wanted to ring in her thirtieth birthday with a glamorous photoshoot and I was here for it! She had a beautiful balloon installation from A Super Party to help us celebrate! We wrapped up the birthday extravaganza shoot with some stunning sunset images of her little family in the field full of flowers adjacent to her house. It was such a diverse collection of photos and I truly love each one of them!
