Ivy Rose Barn. Rocky Mount, Virginia
Tucked away in the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia is a gorgeous wedding venue, The Ivy Rose Barn. When I first discovered this iconic wedding venue, I knew I wanted to plan an editorial here to see all of the beauty. Located on Ivy Rose Farms, which was established in early 2020, this breathtaking venue has been a passion project for the owners and you can definitely tell! They’ve put so much thought and love into the space and I am absolutely ecstatic that I’ll be shooting weddings there soon!
If you’re thinking of tying the knot at this gorgeous white barn, let me share my top ten reasons you should definitely get married at the Ivy Rose Barn!
The Photo Opportunities!
I may be a bit biased, but when it comes to your wedding day it’s always important to factor in how the photos will come out! If you’re looking for those timeless heirloom photos, you’ll want a wedding venue that has multiple spots for wedding portraits. The Ivy Rose Barn is definitely packed full of locations and some! From the outside of the gorgeous white barn to the rolling hills on the farm, you could have so many couples and never take the same photo twice!
Built In Rain Plan
So many wedding venues are absolutely stunning on the outside, but leave couples nervous when it comes to the rain contingency plan. (To rent a tent or not to rent a tent?!) Luckily, the Ivy Rose Barn has so much indoor space that you could have both the wedding and reception indoors and it would be just a beautiful inside as it is outside! There is a stairwell that is just made for bridal portraits and looks like it could have been plucked straight out of a magazine. The bridal suite is large and made for all of the wedding day essentials: champagne popping and mimosa toasting with your ladies without stepping foot outside! With the large white washed walls, ceilings, and floors there is truly enough light on even the rainiest of days.
Wedding Industry Professional Owned
The owners of the Ivy Rose Barn are tried and true wedding day professionals and built the barn with experience in mind! They’ve handcrafted every inch of the venue to be optimal for weddings and it truly shows. Even the minute details are perfection and will leave your guests in awe! (Plus, they know how to guide you through the planning process and have the best recommendations for vendors.)
Ample Getting Ready Space
One of my biggest concerns about wedding venues is always the getting ready space. As a photographer, it’s so much easier to get those classic getting ready portraits in a large, well-lit room. I love that the Ivy Rose Barn already has the potential for incredible images just by providing ample space for the couple to get ready on site. You get to save time by having your wedding day all in one location rather than using up precious minutes driving from place to place!
On Site Furniture Rentals
One of the most stressful parts of wedding planning for couples and wedding planners is trying to coordinate all of the different vendors! This venue has so wonderfully created an in-house inventory of trendy and high end chairs, tables, and other decor possibilities for you to choose from. You won’t need to worry about coordinating drop off and pick up times because the Ivy Rose Barn has you covered!
Working Honey Bee & Flower Farm
Sweet favors for your guests anyone? The Ivy Rose Barn is nestled on the Ivy Rose Farm, which touts it’s own cut flower farm and honey bees! You’ll have some of the sweetest wedding favors around if you choose to shop local and use the Ivy Rose Farm honey for your wedding favors. Florists always get so excited to have local flowers available and it typically reduces the overall cost of florals when they don’t need to be shipped in from South America. You’ll have the best of the best right there on site for your wedding day!
Timeless Aesthetic
Most of the couples I work with ask me how they can achieve a classic and timeless look on their wedding day. I always recommend choosing a venue and details that will forever remain in style. This gorgeous white barn wedding venue will constantly be gorgeous regardless of the season, weather, or year!
Multiple Ceremony Locations
The Ivy Rose Barn is such a versatile wedding venue because it offers endless possibilities! Couples can choose to have their ceremony in so many different locations around the property. There is the option of an outdoor ceremony overlooking the rolling hills with panoramic views; an indoor affair with everyone basking in the natural light of the white washed barn; or in the gorgeous open greenhouse adjacent to the reception barn!
Guest Experience
I am always a sucker for venues that do their best to provide an excellent experience for the couple and their guests. It’s so nice to see accommodations made to keep the loved ones of the Bride and Groom comfortable, which is exactly what this venue did! There is an outdoor bar, ample outdoor social space, ample indoor social space, an in-house kitchen, lots of accessibility features, etc.
Bragging Rights
This stunning venue may be new, but it made it’s debut in a BIG way! The Ivy Rose Barn has been seen on Style Me Pretty, BRIDES, and several other wedding industry favorite publications before it every made its way to the public. (Did I mention that this gorgeous shoot has been featured in the iconic Magnolia Rouge wedding blog? You definitely need to check out the Summer Garden Wedding at the Ivy Rose Barn wedding!) Stylists and wedding planners alike have been drooling to plan editorials at this venue (and they aren’t alone!). If you’re looking for a venue that’s going to have your guests talking–this is the one!
I’m just dying to get back out to the Ivy Rose Barn and photograph some stunning weddings! It’s truly a photographer’s dream venue (as well as the couple’s!) and totally worth booking for your wedding day. If you’ve been searching for a venue in Southwest Virginia for your special day–don’t miss this one!
