When it comes to getting iconic engagement photos, you don’t have to look far in Atlanta! There are so many scenic locations and high rise buildings that just taking a stroll down the city blocks would do. But if you’re looking for truly unique and stylish engagement photos, you definitely don’t want to miss out on the Georgian Terrace Hotel!
A Little History
The Georgian Terrace Hotel in Midtown Atlanta was originally part of the Fox Theater District was built in 1911 and was one of the first hotels built outside of the city’s bustling downtown. The hotel was built with butter colored brick, marble, and limestone to be a Southern version of a traditional Parisian hotel.
To this day, the Georgian Terrace Hotel features remains a gorgeous addition to the city of Atlanta with its classical architectural details, featuring floor-to-ceiling Palladian style windows, and wide wrap-around columned terraces, and super unique design.
Event Possibilities
The Georgian Terrace Hotel is an absolutely beautiful backdrop for Atlanta engagement photos, but it also is a fully functioning hotel too! It features a fabulous in-house restaurant and space to host an entire wedding if you wanted to.
Let’s Talk Photos
First and foremost, you need to chat with the staff at the Georgian Terrace Hotel before planning any photography sessions. As it is a fully functioning business, the Georgian Terrace Hotel hosts hundreds of guests on the daily and events throughout the year. You will want to get in contact about obtaining permission to use the space for your Atlanta engagement photos.
Once you’ve cleared it with management, there are so many opportunities for gorgeous images throughout the Georgian Terrace Hotel! For this engagement session, we started in the restaurant space before the dinner service began. With high ceilings, lots of natural light, and unique art deco style it was the perfect place for this trendy couple.
We followed it up by heading to the wrap around porch outside of the Georgian Terrace Hotel where the huge stone columns really gave it the city vibe. Taking a stroll around the outside of the building with Fox Theater across the street gave the photos a super 1920s feel like something plucked straight out of The Notebook!
The Rooftop Terrace
The grand finale? Why, the rooftop terrace of course! Featuring a panoramic view of the Atlanta skyline, you cannot beat the view from the Georgian Terrace Hotel roof. (In addition, there was a heated outdoor pool up there that I was dying to take a swim in–but I digress!) Since the rooftop is only available for guest use, it was extremely private and provided a great spot for Atlanta engagement photos.
