The Millstone Wedding Venue
So, you’re considering celebrating the biggest day of your life at The Millstone. First and foremost, you have some good taste! The Millstone is a stunning East Tennessee wedding venue located in beautiful Limestone, Tennessee. It originated as, you guessed it, a mill! Built in 1811, this mill served its original purpose for almost 200 years. Secondly, you may be waiting for that final sign to commit to a Millstone wedding, and here it is.
I’m going to give you the ultimate guide to an unforgettable Millstone wedding that will give you and your guests the experience of a lifetime. Let’s get into it!
An overview of the ambiance
The Millstone has an old, rustic feel that is both charming and grand. Staying true to its roots, it features historic architecture and grounds. It even has a water wheel that gives the setting a uniqueness not easily matched with other venues. Its gorgeous, well-kept grounds with natural landscaping hug the huge (I mean, really huge!) solarium.
What I love so much about this East Tennessee wedding venue is that each area feels like a secret spot hidden away from the main house. It gives guests an opportunity to explore and enjoy each part of the venue, adding an unearthing feel that matches the historic construction and natural landscaping.
The lay of the land
Where do I start? I mean, really, The Millstone offers SO much when it comes to space options. A ceremony can happen at almost any turn.
Behind the solarium is the lower courtyard, decorated with twinkling lights and striking, red brick. This leads into the upper courtyard that features a walkway and a humble but chic awning. A beautiful ceremony space, I must say!
From there, a few steps towards the right bring you to a hidden pond, offering guests a dreamy area to take in the evening sunset. A few steps to the left bring you to a walkway that leads to a hidden fire pit. From there, a swinging bench sits off to the side, providing a scenic view of the natural landscape.
I want to point out the walkways! Each of the outdoor spots are found by walking along picturesque, wooden fence-lined walkways. I love this because you feel like you’ve transported back to 1811.
Let’s talk indoor options
The solarium is like a beacon on the property, overlooking the land with both an inviting and awe-inspiring feel. It boasts expansive ceilings and pretty views of the outdoor area, and with a 150-person guest limit, you may not need a plan B list!
Behind the pond is the bridal suite, a freestanding home that can house even the largest parties. In the back is a patio that overlooks the pond, offering a great backdrop for a morning mimosa toast! The venue also has a groom’s suite and man cave, ensuring the other party has room to get ready for the day. Now, I know these are called bridal and groom suites, but really, any party can enjoy either option.
Details, details–and more details
Okay, let’s cover the specifics. This East Tennessee wedding venue offers a rental that includes full use of the property, a parking attendant, a complimentary overnight stay for the couple, modern kitchen, heaters if needed, and sleeping quarters for up to 12 guests.
